Asics Running Shoes

Asics running shoes have been made for over 50 years by the Asics company. The company was started in 1949 in Japan making basketball shoes. The name Asics was chosen in 1977. The name consists of the first letter of Latin words meaning "A sound Mind in a sound Body". Asics products were introduced to the United States in 1977.



Gel Empire
The shoes feature a forefoot cradle, which helps fit the foot into a correct position. A foam lined heel collar holds the athlete's heel for a good fit. List price is $110.

The gel cushioning system absorbs the shock in the heel and forefoot. List price is about $85-90.
