York Barbell was founded in 1932. It develops and produces weightlifting equipment. In the early 1950's it added a line of nutritional supplements.
Dumbbells can be fixed weight or adjustable. York dumbbells are the fixed weight version. They are durable and lower priced than adjustable types. Range of weight for fixed dumbbells is about 2 lb to 125 lb. Price is about $1.30 per pound for the standard versions.
Chrome dumbbells have a weight range of 2.5 to 50 pounds in 2.5 lb weight increments. The handles are ergonomically contoured to fit comfortably in the user's palm.
Iron Hex dumbbells are standard cast iron types. They are hexagon shaped and therefore don't roll on floors. Weight range is about 5-100 pounds in 5 pound increments.
The Rubber coated hex versions protect your floor and equipment. They have contoured chrome handles and durable rubber coated heads.
Vinyl bells are vinyl coated iron models. Weight range is 1-10 pounds in 1 pound increments. Various colors are available.
A 20 pound neoprene coated bell set costs about $60. The set includes a pair of 2 lb, 3 lb and 5 lb bells. A carrying case is also included. The dumbbells are great for aerobics and jogging.
