Cleaning Yoga Mats
is a simple Procedure

For cleaning yoga mats you can use a non solvent household cleaner and a damp cloth or sponge. After cleaning hang the mat and let it dry. It is not recommended to put the mat in the washing machine.

You can buy mat cleaners. The Manduka Mat Renew costs about $10 for an 8 oz bottle. It is an all purpose cleaner that is free of chemicals. The cleaner keeps your mat clean, disinfected and smelling fresh.

Manduka recommends to spray about 20 pumps onto the mat. Then wipe the mat with a damp cloth. Air dry before rolling and using the mat again.

For deep cleaning, spray about 55 pumps onto the mat and let it soak for 3-5 minutes. Then use a damp cloth to clean the surface. Wipe the mat with a clean cloth.

You can also use a spray bottle filled with water and 4 drops of dish soap. Wipe the mat with clean water and a cloth. Air dry the mat.

If the mat is very dirty, scrub the mat in a bathtub with cool water and four drops of mild soap. Rinse with clean water. Place the mat on a dry towel and roll them both up to squeeze out the water. Hang the mat up to dry.
